Big is better, this adage seems to be true, at least for Apple it seems. The Cupertino giant is all set to introduce a giant version of its iPad for release in 2015. The company has seen a dip in shipments in recent times and hopes to once again reign supreme by introducing iPads with screens as big as lap tops. Apple hopes to once again stir more interest in its iPads.
The Jumbo iPad will have a screen which measures 12.9 inches according to a report in Bloomberg which has sourced its story to highly reliable sources. Apple’s associates are readying to manufacture the device and the device will be ready for production in the first quarter. Apple has been working with its manufacturing partners for at least a year.
Apple has been worried by its dip in sales in the tablet section, a section which it held complete domination. New players in the field like Nexus and an aggressive Microsoft with its Surface tablets now available at slashed prices could be giving Apple CEO sleepless nights. Bloomberg reports that Cook wants a complete shakeup of the iPad lineup.
Apple tablet lineup features the 7.9-inch iPad Mini and 9.7-inch iPad Air. The smaller tablet segment has taken a beating and consumers are looking for larger screened smartphones and bigger tablets. Apple would surely like to capitalize on this trend and not found wanting.
iPhone constitute a major chunk of the Apple business and iPad is the second biggest contributor to the Apple basket. Cook will surely like to revitalize this segment with a fresh input of products which can generate fresh interest in the consumers. Apple is also getting ready to upgrade its other two smaller tablets which expected to arrive just before the festive season when the consumer buying sentiments are at its highest.
