The upcoming Windows 9 has been leaked and the release is codenamed “Threshold”. The version is expected to be ready to be released to the Public sometime in the beginning of 2015. The leak makes it amply clear that this time Microsoft is not aggressively going for the touch focused version like the previous iterations but is coming out with a mini start menu and is dropping of the Charms bar. However we will have to wait till September 30 when it will be officially unveiled. Microsoft is rumored to officially unveil the next desktop OS on September 30 as per the tech blog Verge.
The Windows 9 will seek to bring back the Desktop glory and you think of it more of a Windows 7 experience in a Windows 8.1 version. The Modern Windows edition will be still available for the next generation of Desktop and this will greatly endear to Desktop lovers. It will be a more integrated desktop version with most apps running on the Windowed Mode instead of the user jumping from one environment to the other.
Most Windows user on a desktop PC will be excited and elated on the Microsoft OS once again returning to where it started from and they will be expecting that what will be unveiled on September will fulfill their aspirations. According to reports the next iteration of the Windows OS will be unveiled on September 30th.
Microsoft is planning to hold a gala press event on September 30 where it will showcase the Windows 9 before the members of the Fourth estate as well as a select audience of invited guests. It is still not clear if Windows 9 will be indeed christened as Windows 9 or it will be known by its current code name, Windows Threshold. However in all probability it will be known indeed as Windows 9.
