A group of 4th graders have come up with a plan to murder their teacher using hand sanitizer, invoking the reason that the teacher had been treating them badly. Before the police was involved, the children’s parents and the school board found out about their murderous plot and stopped it.
According to a police report, the incident occurred in December, a few days before the winter break. The children involved were studying at the Elba Elementary School, which is located between the towns of Buffalo and Rochester.
The 4th graders’ plan was to make the teacher come in contact with the hand sanitizer product because she is very allergic to it.
The police report made by the Genesee County Sheriff’s Department said that the 4th grade students told their colleagues that they were going to murder the teacher by putting antibacterial products in their classroom.
When being questioned by the police the young suspects said that the teacher yells at the children and everyone in the class hate her. The children were questioned in the company of their parents and school officials.
According to the confession of a student, the plan to murder their teacher was started by another student. A board member of the school contacted the police after hearing about the children’s plan from other parents and from her own son.
In the end, it was decided that the school will take care of the case, so the police was no longer involved.
Jerome Brewster, Chief Deputy, said that although the kids talked about killing their teacher with antibacterial products, they didn’t do anything about it.
Jerome Piwko, the Superintendent of Elba Central School District, said that the district cannot comment anything on the incident because of student privacy policies, but added that no one was harmed.
Piwko said in the statement that the District does not approve in any way of the children’s behavior and will use the incident to educate the students regarding normal behavior.
Although the motive behind the 4th grade students’ plot to kill their teacher isn’t entirely clear, the Sheriff’s Department report indicates that the classroom had problems bonding together and some of them were bullies.
