The Dutch watchdog warned Google for breaking data protection laws by using the users’ personal information for targeted advertising. Google must pay approximately 15 million euro if it fails to fix the alleged breaches. Google has to do it before the end of February 2015 if it wants to avoid paying the fine.
Facebook stated that because their international headquarters is in Dublin, they are always reviewing their upcoming products and changes with the Irish Data Protection Commissioner, which is Facebook’s official regulator in Europe. Facebook said that the new privacy policies have been checked by the Irish Data Protection and comply with all the relevant laws regarding personal data.
