Rockstar Games, the publisher of one of the most popular games in the world, Grand Theft Auto, has just announced that the release of the upcoming GTA 5 for PC has been delayed and the game will be released most likely in the spring of 2015, on March 24.
GTA 5 was released on PlayStation and Xbox 360 in September last year and was recently made available for PS4 and Xbox One. GTA 5 for PC was initially set to be released on January 27 but was canceled.
There were rumors saying that the release date for the PC version of the game has been delayed, although Rockstar Games initially denied these rumors.
In December, on the game’s official site, the release date was changed from January to early 2015. A week ago, Rockstar assured the fans that the game will be released on PC on January 27. The representatives said back then that they have not made any changes to the announced release date.
Rockstar was asked to explain the reason behind the changing of the release date, saying that the game needed a few more weeks of tests in order to be as good as it needs. That was the reason why the company delayed the release date from January 27 to early March. Rockstar Games also apologized to their fans for changing the release date.
The Grand Theft Auto publisher explained that delaying a release date of one of their games is not an easy decision but it has to be done in order to deliver the best quality to the game and to its fans. The publisher thanked everyone for understanding and for being supportive and promised to deliver a great game in a few weeks time.
When the GTA 5 for PC will be released, Rockstar Games will also release a special version of Grand Theft Auto called GTA online, which is a multiplayer mode that allows up to 30 players to play against each other in online competitions. The players can also team up with each other and complete all sorts of complex missions, like robberies.
