Apple is all set to release the iOS 8, the new iteration of iOS which will replace the older OS. There are many new features which will endear itself to the fans of Apple.
iOS 8 will introduce the horizontal view mode which has been designed specifically for iPhone 6 Plus. This means that when the user tilts the phone to a horizontal axis the user interface changes for a better view. The user gets a new keyboard, the QWERTY switches also appears on the side of the normal keyboard with the addition of some new buttons. It includes copy, cut and paste buttons.
Reachability, yes this is the name of the new feature which enables the user to double touch the home button and bring the entire screen down. In other words, the user can touch the on screen controls located in the top of the handset while operating it with one hand only. Users can also measure relative elevation. This means you can know if you are moving up a mountain or on a flat plane-courtesy a sensitive barometer.
Apple iOS 8 will be available around the globe from September 17th. It will be rolling out as an update for iPhone 4s, iPhone 5, iPhone 5C and iPhone 5S. iPod Touch 5th Gen, iPad 2, iPad with Retina display, iPad Air, iPad Mini, iPad Mini with Retina Display will also get the update.
iOS 8 is built upon the iOS 7 which was an extensive revamping of the platform long overdue. The iOS 8 adds mobile payments, support for third party keyboards like hello, Swiftkey for iOS, and a number of UX changes. It will usher in a load of new features to Siri, TouchID, Apps
Apple has revealed in its iPhone 6 and iPhone 6+ launch event that it will release the iOS 8 on September 17th, when it will arrive on all its existing handsets. It is just ahead of the arrival dates of the new smartphones iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 plus.
