Instagram has announced its first photo filters in years. the new Instagram filters are called Aden, Crema, Ludwig, Perpetua and Slumber and they add textures, colors and mood to the instant photos taken by millions of Instagram users every day.
Last time Instagram introduced new photo filters it was back in 2012, and there were two. Instagram hasn’t come up with anything since then. Because there were a lot of users taking photos, apps like VSCO cam have tried to come up with new filters and keep the amateur photographers pleased.
Instagram announced new editing tools this summer and now it releases five new photo filters. Instagram said in an official statement that photography trends are always evolving. More and more Instagram users are becoming better photographers and need more editing tools to better express the mood they are trying to capture in an instant photo.
The new Instagram filters called Aden, Crema, Ludwig, Perpetua and Slumber, were designed to those who use photo editing apps like VSCO Cam. The new Instagram filters look more realistically and subtler than the previous ones.
The new photo trend is moving towards cleaner and less dramatic textures and colors. The technology is so advanced that most of the photos are taken with smartphones instead of cameras. Instagram came out in 2010 and it changed the ways people took photos using their phones. The Instagram filters helped the not-so-advanced phone cameras make the pictures more interesting and full of life.
The new Instagram filters are following the new photo trends in keeping the photos more natural-looking. The new filters even the tones and mute the colors, giving the photos a dreamy, retro feel, without overloading them.
Instagram co-founder, Mike Krieger said last year that super processed photos are not in trend anymore. The new filters are trying to add a mood to the photos, not making them unrecognizable.
Instagram has just reached 300 million users and has more than 19 filters that have become recognizable by many. Instagram users can play with the new filters without even leaving the app. Apart from the new Instagram filters, there are some new editing tools as well.
