RadioShack will be rolling out the Apple Pay from more than 900 RadioShack locations in five high profile markets- Manhattan, Washington, D.C., Chicago, Los Angeles and San Francisco.
More locations will be included in 2015. With this RadioShack consumers can now make purchases and also check out using the Apple Pay option. All users have to do is to hold their iPhone near the contactless reader while keeping their finger on Touch ID. Apple Pay will work with iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus and Apple Watch, upon availability.
Apple Pay amalgamates Apple’s integrated hardware, software and services to give a completely different experience to the user. When any user adds his credit or Debit card with Apple Pay, the card numbers are not stored on the device or on Apple servers.
A unique Device Account Number is assigned, encrypted for safety and stored in the Secure Element on the user’s device. Every transaction is endorsed with a onetime unique dynamic security code, instead of using the security code from the back of the user’s card. Apple Pay is safe, easy to install and users will get all the benefits and rewards offered by the credit and debit card service providers.
Joe Magnacca, chief executive officer at RadioShack said, “RadioShack is proud to be one of the select retailers debuting this exciting new payment option from Apple. As part of our commitment to put customers first, we want to provide additional payment options that take advantage of new solutions and make the process easier for the customer. We are pleased to continue to leverage technology to improve our store experience.”
