Only a few days are left before the unveiling of the Dreamforce event in San Francisco by Salesforce.com. The event will attract 140,000 attendees and will be addressed by CEO Marc Benioff and other celebrity guests. The show is an important one especially for the cloud software industry and here is a look at what to expect.
Salesforce.com has come a long way from where it started as a CRM or customer relationship management software company. The company continues to make money in this sector. Salesforce.com is expected to launch an analytics cloud service at Dreamforce. It will be the sixth discrete cloud to be launched by the company.
Michael Krigsman, analyst of consulting firm Asuret feels, “The message at Dreamforce needs to be that Salesforce is not just a CRM or customer service application but a way of life. That Salesforce can be your partner for running quite a number of core parts for your business, at an enterprise level but for smaller companies as well.”
There will be lots of discussions especially on Salesforce’s underlying development platform. It could be used for extending applications and creating new ones. There are going to be a large number of announcements about platform enhancements at Dreamforce and the primary focus this time will be on mobile applications.
So all eyes will now be focused on the forthcoming Financial Analyst Sessions during Dreamforce 2014, the biggest software event ever. Dreamforce will take place October 13-16, 2014 at the Moscone Convention Center in San Francisco, CA.
Salesforce.com’s Financial Analyst Sessions will be audiocast live beginning at 2:00 p.m. (PDT) / 5:00 p.m. (EDT) on Monday, Oct. 13, and 4:30 p.m. (PDT) / 7:30 p.m. (EDT) on Tuesday, Oct. 14.
