Convincing people to follow an active lifestyle could decline the death rates in Europe by 7,5 %, on the other hand, ending obesity would decline rates by only 3.6%.
It is a known fact that the lack of physical activity can lead to heart malfunctions and even cancer. To keep their system strong and healthy people don’t even have to put to much effort into it. Twenty minutes a day of walking might just be the medicine required for a long healthy life. Being active should become a daily habit and be taken like one of the most important things we have to do for our lives. The benefits of it are beyond our imagination.
The Cambridge University, conducted a study on individuals from 10 European countries, with the average age of 50 years old, whom were analyzed at the European Prospective Investigation into Cancer. They were asked to write down how active they were every day and had their height and waist line measured and also their weight.
After the results, only 22.7% were considered inactive, meaning they had sedentary work places and had no recreational activity.Confronting the inactive groups with the ones who were moderate active, demonstrated the incredible health differences.
Loosing weight and helping others to loose weight can be a though challenge but this shouldn’t stop health organizations to encouraging the population to make slow and attainable changes, said, Professor Nick Wareham, director of the Medical Research Council’s Epidemiology Unit, and co-author of the study.
