Gone are the days when an average internet user use to wait for hours before downloading a huge file. Communications and cloud service Broadview Networks has created a map showing the average speed for each state in the United States.
It has been found that Virginia, the state from the South has got the America’s fastest internet speed. It is stated that the average internet speed in Virginia is 13.7Mbps per second.
The report is based on a data Akami’s ”State of the Internet” published in last June.
The States which have recorded an average internet speed of more than 10Mbps are considered as High Broadband. Whereas the states with average speed of less than 4Mbps were supposed to be included in the Low Broadband category.
The second position is shared between Delaware and Massachusetts. Both Delaware and Massachusetts recorded an average internet speed of 13.1Mbps. Washington D.C., Rhode Island followed them with 12.9Mbps.
New Hampshire, Utah, Michigan, and Connecticut are some of the other States which follows the top 5 closely.
In their Blog post, Broadview Network wrote, “It’s no surprise that the Northeast has some of the fastest speeds in the nation, while the Midwest and less populated states have generally slower speeds.”
The states in the bottom of the list are Arkansas, Kentucky, Montana, and West Virginia. Yes, you read it right.
The state which shares similar name West Virginia ranked slowest for the internet speed according to Broadview.
