With the widespread use of the internet, people’s perceptions and understandings of many issues have shifted. One example is the idea of hackers. Just a few decades ago, hackers were seen as uber-intelligent top secret agents that were capable of starting a new digital war. But nowadays, hackers’ skills are much more common. So common in fact, that hackers are now offering their services to the public via internet announcements.
Hacker’s List is a website that offers hacking services to anyone interested in accessing someone else’s accounts, websites, etc. The site reportedly has been around since November last year, and over 500 hacking jobs have been listed.
The idea behind Hacker’s List is that people needing services post different jobs, which are then bid on by interested hackers. The lister can also set targets for the stages of the job, as a way of monitoring the work process of the hacker engaged in the task. When the job is completed the site receives a fee. An AES-256 bit encryption keeps both the hackers and the posters completely anonymous.
As it states on the site, its creators believe that hiring a hacker should be an easy process, so they provide the services of “trustworthy professional hackers” for anyone who is in need of them.
The main question on everyone’s minds is whether or not its existence is in any way legal. The site’s creators say that they used legal advice on how to properly build and present the site in order to avoid any liability or illegality.
Hiring hackers can enable anyone, even people with zero technical and computer knowledge to engage in cyberattacks, permitting online crimes to develop much rapider, with less difficulty.
Hacker’s List isn’t the only available option for hacker hire. There are many more similar websites, like Hacker for Hire or Neighborhood Hacker which provide the same services, although they do not have as good of pitch lines as Hacker’s List. Hacker for Hire is even much more honest about its morals, as it says on their front page “HiTech Crime Solutions”. Neighborhood Hacker focuses on providing more professional and ethical hackers.
There are also sites where one can evaluate and rate hacker hire websites. On Hire Reviews, Hacker’s List is on top of the list.
