The most popular video website has unveiled its new face for Apple TV. The YouTube app for Apple TV has a fresh look and a fresher feel.
Google’s YouTube has updated its app for one of the most popular smart TV’s available on the market, the Apple TV. YouTube app for Apple TV comes with a new design, some cool personalized recommendations, a new predictive search and the possibility to subscribe to channels right from the comfort of the Apple TV set.
YouTube is still one of the most expansive video platforms around. It has more than 1 billion unique visitors per month and these visitors spend more than 6 billion hours watching videos uploaded on YouTube. This makes YouTube the number one source of Internet traffic on Earth.
Apple TV is also enjoying some increasing popularity. Experts estimate sales of such smart devices will be exceed 57 million units sold in 2018, triple than last year when the number was at 20 million.
YouTube has made a special video on their site announcing the new app for Apple TV. This follows the YouTube app for Xbox One which was announced earlier this year.
The YouTube app for Apple TV has not received much attention this year so it was about time YouTube did something about it. Despite the fact that Apple TV is one of the best selling smart TVs in the world, there are many who criticize it for the fact that it doesn’t come with too many channels and the ones that are supported are not updated very often.
That’s why YouTube wanted to change that. Apple called the new YouTube app for Apple TV “beautiful and easy to use”. It also said that the Apple TV was updated with new apps including Conde Nast Entertainment’s The Scene, with videos from The New Yorker, Vogue and Vanity Fair. Apple said it added news, satire network and pop culture entertainment. It added UFC.TV, which broadcasts live fighting programming, only with a subscription. The Apple TV was also upgraded with Dailymotion, which is a video-sharing site like YouTube, but a lot smaller.
